Starting new for the 2008 rifle season we will be offering Semi-Guided Whitetail Hunts. These hunts will be during the peak of the whitetail rut. Our area produces bucks in the 135 - 170 Boone & Crocket class on a regular basis. You will be taken out with one of our pro-whitetail guides and set in a blind stand for the day in a high productive area. You will be given a 2-way radio to contact your guide anytime, for any reason. This is not one of those hunts where you are dropped off in the morning and no contact with your guide until you are picked up at dark. We are sure we can put you in an area that will produce the buck you are looking for. For the hunter who purchases the combo deer/elk license you have a pretty good chance of a bull walking by since they co-habitat in the same area. The price of this semi-guided hunt is $2500.00 for 6 days.

Our 2007 Spring Bear hunting season was all that we expected and more!
The only thing that could make our spring bear season any better would be if the season didn't have to end. The weather couldn't have been better. Morning temperatures were in the 40's and the highs in the 70's to 80's. Abundance of early morning moisture combined with the warm temperatures the grass was perfect for bears. We saw deer and elk every day taking advantage of the new lush growing grass.

Anyhow, back to bear hunting, our first group came in on May 4th to start hunting on the 5th. The guys got in about 3 p.m. and got settled in. After a big supper there was still plenty of time to do a little glassing before dark. Actually we had been watching a big black boar for a few days prior and I couldn't wait to get to the site with a hunter. A short ride from the lodge we were glassing for the big one. We really didn't get a chance to see the black bear because a nice chocolate bear came walking under us a little over 400 yards away. We were back at the lodge a little past dark with a beautiful chocolate colored bear. The guys hadn't even been at the lodge for 3 hours. What a way to start the week! We had 4 guys the first week and 3 took really nice bears. Two nice chocolates and one black.
The second week started May 11th with a group of six. Dave Read and wife Beth brought two additional couples with them from Michigan. They all took really nice bears but one and it wasn't for the lack of trying. It was a matter of not being at the right place at the right time.

Overall it was a really fun season. We saw a lot of bears and had great people to hunt with. It's one of those seasons that won't soon be forgotten.

About Your Outfitter and Staff

Glenn: (Owner/Outfitter) Was born and raised in Trout Creek many years ago. Growing up and living to hunt and fish, he decided to start outfitting and guiding in 1968.
For the first 10 years it was part time. As his two sons grew up, he began guiding full time with his wife, June at his side.

Joe: (Guide) Glenn's son; grew up in the outfitting business. After a few years away, he decided to come back and work full time in outfitting.

June: Glenn's wife of 43 years and one of the hardest workers of the gang, June sees that everything is taken care of in the lodge, including cooking, cleaning, and whatever else the guides can get her to do!!

Roberta: Joe's wife of 27 years, Roberta cooks the evening meals.
